The
Bahá'í Office for the Advancement of Women deals with specific issues
concerning women and children. It involves liaisoning with some of the United
Nations agencies, Non-governmental Organisations, and some of
the Government departments and agencies; organising
seminars/symposia; conducting training workshops.
Equality between men and women,
entailing full and equal participation of women in “all fields
of human endeavour” is a cardinal principle of Bahá’í belief.
Consequently, the Bahá’í community throughout the world is
constantly striving to improve the status of women at all levels
of society.
"The world of humanity has
two wings – one is women and the other men. Not until both wings
are equally developed can the bird fly. Should one wing remain
weak, flight is impossible.”
